How many kVA UPS do I need?
Add up the power consumption of all devices to be protected, divide by the power factor and add a reserve for future growth. The required battery time determines the battery configuration.

What is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?
A UPS is a device that keeps your equipment running from its batteries when mains power fails, and protects it against voltage fluctuations, spikes and frequency deviations.
Which UPS type should I choose?
For critical loads such as servers, medical and industrial equipment, choose an online UPS. For growing data centers a modular UPS is ideal. Line interactive models suit PCs and small offices.
How many kVA UPS do I need?
Add up the power (W) of all devices, divide by the power factor (≈0.9) and add a 20–25% reserve. Example: 4,000 W ÷ 0.9 ≈ 4.4 kVA → a 6 kVA UPS is the right choice.
How long does a UPS run on battery?
Backup time depends on the load and battery capacity: typically 5–15 minutes with internal batteries, hours with external battery cabinets.
How often should a UPS be maintained?
We recommend periodic maintenance at least once or twice a year; batteries usually need replacing every 3–5 years.
