Guide

What is a static transfer switch?

An STS monitors two independent sources and transfers the load to the alternate source within milliseconds using thyristor switches — far faster than mechanical transfer switches.

In dual-UPS designs it lets single-corded critical devices benefit from both UPS systems.

  • Transfer within milliseconds
  • Sync / async transfer
  • Preferred source & manual bypass
  • Remote monitoring via RS232/RS485/Modbus

FAQ

STS FAQ

STS vs ATS?

An ATS uses mechanical contactors (hundreds of ms or more); an STS switches electronically within milliseconds.

Why use STS with two UPS?

It lets single-corded loads be fed from either of two UPS systems without interruption.

Sync vs async transfer?

Synchronous sources transfer seamlessly; otherwise a controlled asynchronous transfer is used.

Hot-swap?

Yes, our single-phase models support hot-swap with internal manual bypass.

Installation and service?

Yes, with 24/7 service.
