In a monoblock UPS, most of the power electronics are housed within a single device. In a modular UPS, the total capacity is produced by power modules installed inside a common cabinet. How Does a Modular UPS Work?

Under normal mains conditions, a modular UPS converts the incoming alternating current into regulated direct current and transfers it to the inverter stage. How Is Modular UPS Battery Runtime Determined?

The backup time of a UPS cannot be determined solely from its kVA rating. Battery runtime depends on the actual load, battery capacity, number of batteries, DC bus voltage, inverter efficiency, battery age and ambient temperature.

In facilities equipped with a generator, the battery system is generally planned according to the time required for the generator to start safely, together with an appropriate safety margin.
